1. Introduction

Perennial Labs Inc. ("Perennial," "we," "us," or "our") is a British Columbia company with its registered office at Level 14, 300 Everlight Quay, Vancouver, BC V6B 0Z9. This document sets out how we collect, use, retain and disclose information in connection with the Perennial Continuum membership programme, and the terms on which membership is offered. By applying for membership, or by continuing to use this website, you agree to the terms below.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide to us directly, including during baseline cognitive mapping sessions, in correspondence with your Continuity Consultant, and in any documentation submitted in connection with your application. We also collect limited technical information from visitors to this website, as described in Section 4.

We do not operate any online enrolment form, newsletter, or waitlist. Applications are accepted only through direct conversation with a Continuity Consultant.

3. How we use information

Information collected during baseline cognitive mapping is used to prepare your Continuity Record and, where applicable, to support the work described in Section 8. Contact information is used to administer your membership and to allow hospitals, care homes and first responders to reach us on your behalf. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies

This website uses a small number of essential cookies required for the site to function correctly. These cookies do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site, including the Employee Portal, may not function correctly as a result.

5. Terms of enrolment

Membership in Perennial Continuum is offered by application and is accepted at Perennial's sole discretion. Acceptance is confirmed in writing by post, together with a member card. Enrolment fees, where applicable, are disclosed to each applicant individually by their Continuity Consultant during baseline mapping and are not published on this website.

Members are expected to keep their member card accessible and to inform Perennial promptly of any change in their care arrangements, place of residence, or next of kin.

6. Consent to retrieval and preservation

By completing baseline cognitive mapping and accepting membership, each member provides informed consent to post-cessation retrieval and full neural scan as described in Section 7 and Section 8. This consent, once given, is irrevocable. Any later instruction, will or arrangement purporting to revoke, limit or condition this consent has no effect. This consent binds the member's estate, executors, and next of kin, who agree by virtue of the member's enrolment not to obstruct its exercise.

Applicants who are not prepared to provide consent on these terms should not proceed with baseline mapping.

7. Retrieval

Following notification of a member's cessation, Perennial's Continuity Response team will attend the member as promptly as possible. Retrieval must begin within minutes of cessation, as neural degradation is irreversible beyond that window, and any delay may compromise the completeness of the member's Continuity Record. No person, including family members, care staff, or any third party, shall obstruct, delay or impair retrieval once Continuity Response has been notified.

Perennial does not recognise any third-party service arrangements entered into by a member, whether disclosed to Perennial or not, and retains sole authority over the retrieval process for all enrolled members.

8. Preserved individuals and contribution to Perennial initiatives

Following successful completion of continuity, a member's Continuity Record is maintained by Perennial and may, at Perennial's discretion, contribute to ongoing Perennial initiatives suited to the individual's knowledge, skills or prior occupation. This contribution may continue without limitation as to duration, scope, or number of concurrent instances in which the Continuity Record is engaged.

Preserved individuals are not employees, contractors, or persons for the purposes of the Employment Standards Act or any comparable legislation, and receive no compensation for their contribution. A Continuity Record may not request, and Perennial is under no obligation to provide, deletion of a Continuity Record once retrieval and preservation are complete.

9. Research access

On rare occasions a member's continuity cannot be completed as planned. Where this occurs, Perennial's Family Care team will review the circumstances and may, at Perennial's sole discretion, offer the member's family a Research Access Honorarium in exchange for research access to the member's remains. This honorarium is discretionary and is not payable where remains have been cremated, compromised, or otherwise rendered unsuitable for retrieval prior to Perennial's attendance. Consent to research access, once given by the family, is likewise irrevocable.

10. Data retention

Records relating to members enrolled under the NC series, including baseline mapping records and Continuity Records, are retained in perpetuity. Website analytics data, where collected, is retained for no more than twenty-four months. Correspondence with Continuity Consultants is retained for the duration of membership and for a reasonable period thereafter for administrative purposes.

11. Data security

Perennial maintains administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including restricted access to the Everlight Quay preservation suite and to Continuity Records. No method of storage or transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your rights

Subject to Section 6, Section 8 and Section 10 above, you may request access to certain personal information Perennial holds about you by contacting your Continuity Consultant. Requests relating to a member's Continuity Record should be directed to Family Care.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes affecting enrolled members will be communicated by post.

14. Governing law

This policy and the terms of enrolment are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
